A Christmas Commission for Cath Ball…

We had some great commissions at Christmas, but one that we particularly liked was between two of our Makers.

Sally-Ann Provan designs and makes luxurious hats and fashion accessories, and she got in touch with us about the work of Cath Ball Stitched Ceramics. Sally has a collection of different cups and saucers - some vintage, some contemporary - and she enjoys choosing a different one to drink from every day. Cath's beautiful glazed porcelain mugs and vases are imprinted with lace, and Sally asked if it was possible to make a cup and saucer in this style.

After a few exchanges of emails Cath and Sally produced a design for a lace imprinted cup and saucer using similar colours to some of Cath's other pieces on our site. Cath then made a few versions and sent some images to Sally for her to choose from...and here's the final commission...
