Christine Kaltoft

I design and make graphic contemporary jewellery. Much of my jewellery is inspired by the behaviour of birds - my pet hens and others.

I have work from two collections on madebyhandonline: one is based on quick sketches of moving birds, the other was inspired by all the nesting activity that went on in my garden during the spring.

Both these collections are made in sterling silver, sometimes oxidised to a graphic grey and sometimes plated in 18 carat gold. I do work in solid 18 carat gold too, and can take commissions. The processes I use include soldering, forging, laser welding, and casting.

Since graduating in 2007 I have exhibited widely in top UK venues including Goldsmiths’ Fair, Origin, and the Contemporary Craft Festival in Bovey Tracey. Images of my work also appear in several books and journals.

**We're looking forward to having Christine’s work with us again soon.**

Perhaps you need accessories to go with a particular outfit or a piece of furniture to fit a specific space in your home. We can work with you to design something truly unique. You’ll be able to discuss your ideas, likes and dislikes with the Maker and together create a piece of craft, handmade for you.
