I am a Textile Artist specialising in free machine embroidery, at the heart of my practice is a commitment to drawing, observing and reacting to my environment.
I feel deeply rooted in process and search for an honesty in my making. I aim to be true to my materials, seeking to extract and enhance their natural potential. Recent explorations with metal have led to a collection of silver jewellery.
Making is a mediation: I get lost in its rhythm... yet I work with speed and my work offers vitality and energy.
I have been creating, exhibiting and teaching for over 30 years; I specialised in Textiles and Machine Embroidery at Goldsmith's College, London University [BA Hons] and UCE, Birmingham [Masters].
Commissioning a piece of work is really exciting – it is a chance to have something made especially for you and an opportunity to really engage in the creative process.
Perhaps you need accessories to go with a particular outfit or a piece of furniture to fit a specific space in your home. We can work with you to design something truly unique. You’ll be able to discuss your ideas, likes and dislikes with the Maker and together create a piece of craft, handmade for you.
