Kate Bajic

Kate became a studio jeweller in 2003, exhibiting collections in galleries and at exhibitions throughout the UK and Ireland. Whilst on her degree Kate found a natural affinity working with metal and spent long hours making intricate models to help her visualise her designs.

She has always promoted craftsmanship and quality of making in her work, and her jewellery is designed and created as much as possible by hand. Inspiration for Kate’s work has always come from studying natural structures and forms. Drawing on this, along with her interest in science, Kate has focussed on specific lichen species and their chemical compounds as the main theme to her current collection.

Kate is also involved in several collaborative projects with makers from various backgrounds and is always looking to develop and broaden her knowledge, skills and practice.
