Rachel Brown Jewellery

Rachel Brown is a Yorkshire based jeweller who specialises in enamel and graphite drawn jewellery. Her work explores mark making and repetitive patterns using graphite powder and an everyday pencil. This simple yet effective technique results in individual, unique pieces of jewellery which have been described as 'wearable art'.

Rachel's recent work looks at different ways to apply graphite powder onto the surface of white enamel. One of the processes is similar to that of paper marbling and the results produce a beautiful painterly abstract surface. The muted palette of greys and white often include flashes of red or gold. Her recent work also explores mark making through embossing and wire manipulation.

Rachel is a member of the British Society of Enamellers and Contemporary Applied Arts.
