Sarah Jarrett-Kerr
Sarah Jarrett-Kerr is a Somerset based bookbinder whose love affair with books as physical objects has spanned across the last thirty years. Recent comments about her work include ‘easy to handle’, ‘a wonderful piece of work’ and ‘I love the texture, colours and design’.
Sarah trained at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, set up a bindery for the British School in Rome and has been bookbinding from her own studio ever since.
Whether designing a blank journal or binding a first edition with Nigerian goatskin, Sarah intimately connects the book, its binding and the people who will experience both. Her work draws colours textures and materials together to create beautiful but practical objects that are fragile, sensuous, fresh and thrillingly tactile all at once.
