Fabrications: Contemporary Textile Craft Classes
Fabrications is a new 10 week, tailor made, contemporary textiles course for anyone looking for a knitting class, or crochet course, that offers more. It builds on existing textile skills such as knitting, felting and crochet and is aimed at crafters who have some experience of making and would like the opportunity to develop their skills, and learn new ones, in a supportive and inspiring environment.
The emphasis will be on individual development within a loose framework of techniques and processes in an informal, but structured class. There will be no pressure on anyone to produce anything! It will be purely for pleasure and enjoyment, although the expectation would be for participants to engage in developing ideas independently (with support). You will not be judged on your making skills – the only real requirements are curiosity and enthusiasm.
The course will be hosted by Arts Desire on St Benedicts Street, Norwich, on Monday evenings from 7.30 – 9.30pm and will be taught by Sue Maton from The Mercerie. Sue has over 20 years experience of teaching textiles in adult education, FE, HE and at Masters level. Sue also holds a DTLLs teaching qualification. £120 for 10 classes.

Felt Stitch & Nostalgia with Jeanette Sendler
A textile course celebrating stitch and loved objects from the past…Most people collect and hangs on to things from the ‘olden days’. The longer we keep these things the more sentimental our thoughts and memories become.
